Trish (Patricia)'s Story
Life
Being a militay brat, the family moved every few years to the next tour of duty. At about age ten I got my first horse and have had horses ever since then with most of my time outside of school spent at the barn with them. In my 10th through 12th grades, I was almost always at the Albrook stables, Panama Canal Zone, with my horses or at the beach with my girlfriends. I still have horses and still live close enough to salt water to take them to the beach occasionally.
Most of my working years have been in Infomation Services for the health care industry. Then, after 25 years I transferred into Telecommunications with responsibility over the wireless communications (cell phones, modem cards, etc), calling cards, and toll free numbers for my employer, a state agency.

finally as an owner/trainer. I was married briefly early in life but had no children. Instead, I now have 4 horses and 2 miniatures, 4 dogs, and numerous cats. I own my home on acreage in a rural area outside of Houston, Texas.
As many of our generation have done, I brought my mother to live with me a few years ago. Now, as we both age, I am blessed to be able to spend so much more time with her. She is still very healthy but has to use a walker to manuver around.
Although I had planned to work up to or past retirement age, I find myself faced with physical disabilities due to having a physically active lifestyle. Each day is a challenge in caring for the animals, my mother, and myself, but it is very satisfying knowing that I am still able to do as much as I can even though it may take a bit longer than it used to.
